The Cinque master’s thesis proposes a coffee set made from polymer infused with coffee grounds.

The set includes three sizes of cups with saucers, a universal tray, a sugar bowl, a milk jug, a stirrer, and a to-go cup. It is designed for contexts where porcelain services are uncommon and offers an alternative that can help reduce the consumption of disposable cups.

The project was developed in response to an assignment from Plastia s.r.o., with whom the author collaborated closely. It became part of the collective project Kafelímek, which explores the potential of coffee grounds as a material in industrial design.

Cinque embodies the transformation of waste into a valuable material while demonstrating how design can address current environmental challenges. By employing coffee grounds as a raw material, the project links sustainability with aesthetics and functionality, suggesting new directions for everyday coffee culture in the age of circular design.
