In the Eyes of AI offers an insight into the world of artificial intelligence through visually rich digital design. The author employs generative tools and AI algorithms to create variable portraits and digital identities that explore how machines “see” the human form. The resulting works move away from traditional facial representation and open a space for speculation on how AI might reshape our perception of identity.

The project was developed within the faculty-wide assignment Identity, whose outcomes were also presented at Milan Design Week. In this way, the work becomes part of a broader international discourse on how technology is transforming our understanding of individuality and self-presentation.

Within the SHIFT exhibition, the project illustrates a transformation of the medium — from passive visual representation to an active dialogue between human and machine. Through digital portraits, design enters the realm of reflection on our relationship to technology and identity.

At the same time, the project highlights ethical questions connected to the use of AI in creative practice. In the Eyes of AI opens a debate on authorship in the digital environment and on how the role of the creator changes when algorithms become part of the creative process.
