Éclaire

Tereza Prudilová

This interactive project explores Gothic art through the eyes of a contemporary designer employing digital tools. The author works with the motif of stained glass and the light that passes through it, creating visuals that evoke contemplation and moments of transcendental calm. The French word Éclaire, meaning “it shines” or “it illuminates,” refers not only to the luminous effect itself but also to the project’s inspiration from France and the Sainte-Chapelle, which served as a key point of departure for the visual concept. Developed in TouchDesigner using particle systems, the project offers a different outcome each time, responding directly to viewer interaction.

Within the SHIFT exhibition, the project demonstrates how a historical visual style can be transformed into a contemporary interactive experience. Gothic symbolism of light is reimagined in digital form, drawing the viewer into a dialogue between past and present and opening a path to transcendental experience.
