This master’s thesis presents a modular wall system made of recycled PET felt, developed in collaboration with DeFelt. The system allows for variable arrangements of storage modules (coat rack, shelf, storage box) according to the individual needs of the user, while emphasizing acoustic performance, flexibility, and aesthetic coherence. With 3D-printed components and minimalist fittings, the result is an elegant design that can be assembled and disassembled without additional modifications to the space.
Within the SHIFT exhibition, the Modair system represents the transformation of living spaces into flexible, adaptable, and aesthetically rich environments. It illustrates how interior design can respond to contemporary needs — from home office use to modular flexibility across different stages of life.
Modair demonstrates that design can transform not only the materials employed but also our very perception of space — turning rigid, static structures into living, variable, and adaptive organisms.
