Sinaë - Vital Signs Monitor

Valeriya Truskavetska

This master’s thesis focuses on the design of a compact set of home healthcare devices for monitoring vital signs — blood pressure, temperature, and blood oxygen levels.

In collaboration with the brand ETA, a design was developed that emphasizes ergonomics, intuitive operation, visual coherence, and ease of use in the home environment. The result is the Sinaë product set, which combines aesthetics, functionality, and technical simplicity with the aim of improving everyday healthcare at home.

Within the context of the SHIFT exhibition, the project represents a transformation of traditional medical instruments — from sterile, technical devices toward design that is understandable, aesthetically appealing, and empathetic to the user. It shows how design can reshape our relationship to daily health care, making it more naturally integrated into life. At the same time, the work raises the question of how home healthcare will evolve in an era of digitalization and an aging population.

Sinaë suggests a future in which technology, design, and social responsibility together shape new ways of caring for human health in a changing world.
